Ciao
a tutte,
vi
nessun uomo! All'inizio
Ora
vi scrivo per passare all'azione.
-
In
Aspettiamo
i vostri commenti
Grazie
e a presto in acqua
Tatiana,
Luisa, Laura e Mirella
Hi everybody,
I'm writing to share with you a reflection.
Last year I've been invited to a Women Sea Kayak Symposium organized in Tromso, Norway.
The idea has come to a Danish coach, Jannie Heegaard, who was the first to launched the idea in her country: organized a meeting among women sea kayakers, with only women participants and only women coaches, no man at all! At the beginning it seemed an impossible thing, expecially for the perplexity and the reluctance of lot of women sea kayakers. After a while, lot of people have understood the importance to work only among women, in a sort of "female environment".
Then the women symposium easily arrived to Scotland and Norway.
Now I'd like to be able to organize a women symposium in Italy as well!
I have already talked to some of you of it seems that there is a good interest around it.
Three more women are already in the team: Luisa Casu from Genoa, Laura Costantini from Reggio Emilia and Mirella Graglini from Laveno (Varese).
I write you to pass the information.
Organize a women symposium with an international breath means that first of all we need to understand if there are women paddlers interested in participating to the event:
- 4 days of sea kayak theoretical-practical sessions with Italian and foreign coaches
- English / Italian translation for the Italian participants who don't have a fluent English
- different sessions for beginners and experienced, from forward paddling to rolling
- progressive sessions in order to let all the participants to take part in (almost) all the sessions
- possibility of leaving your own kayak next to the Canoaverde club centre or even renting a kayak
- fee of 300 € per person to cover the costs of the organization (return flights and accomodations for the foreign coaches, gadget for the participants, etc)
Genoa city and coastline offers an interesting spot where to paddle, with areas of calm waters and also moving waters, some challenging rock gardens and possibly some surf too.
There is a swimming pool near the harbour that he can eventually be used for the rolling courses.Genoa provides an airport, a harbour and a railway station for those who don't drive a car.
We're thinking that the best period should be next Easter 2018.
In order to do not create family attritions and to facilitate the logistic operations, we are also thinking about men: thay can take part in a multi-day trip with free kayak camping around Palmaria Island, in the La Spezia Gulf, not far from Genoa. The male group will be lead by Mauro Ferro and Andrea Bresil and there will also be the chance to be part of a male bicycling group as weel...
Let us knows if you are interested in the women Italian symposium and if you would like to partecipate: write yes, I'm in, I book a place!
If we will receive a number of positive answers, we can easily understand if this is a realizable dream or something to... post-poned!
We wait for your comments.
Thanks and talk to you soon in water
