Insegnanti 2018: Tatiana Cappucci

Tatiana Cappucci

I’ve started paddling in 2001 with a Greenland paddle and I have never stopped since then.
Unexpected I am the only female coach of the Italian Canoe & Kayak Federation FICK but I still hope to be able to share my experience with other women paddlers because I deeply believe that the elegance and the patience of the women are values to celebrate all together.
I love the Inuit culture and I feel like a child when I practise Greenland rolling. With other kayaker and rollers we have organized the Italian Greenland Rolling Championship in Genoa for three years in the past and since then I’ve continued to train and coach this pretty magic discipline in the indoor swimming pool.
In 2008 I’ve discovered the universe of the British Canoeing and since then I have tried to continually improve my technical and didactical skills.
In 2009 together with my partner Mauro Ferro I’ve co-founded the sea kayak school Tatiyak and we have been so lucky to have the chance to coach all around Italy and Europe.
I fall in love with the circumnavigation of the main Islands in the Mediterranean (Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica, Crete, Croatian Islands, Balearic Islands, Ionian and Ciclades Islands in Greece and in 2017 also the periplus of the greatest artificial island of the Peloponnese). After the marvellous experience in Scotland "Around Highlands", every trip has been promoted with a specific blog, all collected on the main Tatiyak’s blog.
I’ve always loved to write down my paddling experiences and I’ve cooperated for many years with different Italian sea kayak magazines.
In 2008 I was the copy editor for the book "The other half of the sea", a collection of stories written by passionate women paddlers.
After 10 years I like the idea to be again involved in new challenging projects about the crucial theme of the women’s empowerment in the sea kayak world.
